In 2013, I embarked on my first organizational leadership role as Vice President of “Long Walk to Yeoman’s Service,” a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities in rural Bangladesh. Leading a team of 10 passionate volunteers, I coordinated initiatives to provide essential support to those in need, marking the beginning of my journey in social impact and community service. This role taught me the value of empathy-driven leadership and the power of collective action in addressing societal challenges.
Our flagship initiative, the Winter Charity Project, made a tangible difference in the lives of 500 families in the coastal area of Kushtia, Bangladesh. Facing extreme cold, these families received blankets and vital supplies, offering them warmth and resilience during harsh winter months. I oversaw the planning, fundraising, and distribution efforts, ensuring that resources reached those most in need efficiently and effectively.
Additionally, we spread joy during Eid, a significant Muslim festival, by providing food and essential supplies to families living in extreme poverty in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This initiative not only addressed immediate needs but also fostered a sense of inclusion and celebration for communities often overlooked during festive times. By collaborating with local partners and mobilizing volunteers, we ensured these efforts had a meaningful and lasting impact.
